What You Will Do Manage a caseload of children and families, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and best practice standards. Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989 and 2004. Develop, implement, and review Child in Need plans, Child Protection plans, and Care Plans for Children in Care. Lead safeguarding interventions and carry out Section 47 enquiries where required. Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences, reviews, and court proceedings. Carry out direct work with children and families to assess risk, identify needs, and support sustainable change. Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies including Health, Police, and Education. Participate in strategy discussions, planning meetings, and multi-agency forums. Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records, ensuring practice is child-focused and culturally competent. Engage in regular supervision, training, and continuous professional development to continually improve practice. Requirements Essential Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registered with Social Work England. Recent experience working in Children’s Services within a statutory setting. Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Children Act frameworks, and statutory guidance. Ability to manage complex cases, assess risk, and make sound professional judgements.
