Band 5/6 Biomedical Scientist locum opportunity within the Pathology Team in Cambridge UK.

Our team is seeking a committed and innovative Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join on a Full-Time basis with an ASAP start - ongoing. What you will do:

- Work as an HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist in a well-equipped laboratory.
- Efficiently process high volumes of patient samples, prioritising urgent cases to ensure timely delivery of results to clinicians.
- Safely operate and maintain various automated, semi-automated, and manual laboratory equipment, adhering to SOPs.
- Employ your specialised skills to troubleshoot and resolve any issues while interpreting, validating, and authorising test results to generate expert reports.
- Provide expert advice to service users and clinicians concerning the relevance of tests and expected timescales.
- Offer supervision, training, and support to less experienced colleagues.
- Model exemplary professional behaviour that serves as guidance and mentorship for junior staff.
- Participate in the delivery of a 24/7 service, including out-of-hours rota, weekends, and extended working hours.

Requirements:

- HCPC registration
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
- Being a car driver is preferable due to possible out-of-hours requirements
