This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Adults Social Worker to join a Learning Disabilities Team in Manchester. You will work with adults who have a range of learning disabilities, supporting independence, wellbeing, and safeguarding through high‑quality statutory social work practice.

What you will do

• Complete Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews, and reassessments using a person‑centred approach.
• Manage a caseload of adults with learning disabilities, including individuals with complex needs.
• Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.
• Undertake Mental Capacity Act assessments and make Best Interests decisions where required.
• Lead and respond to safeguarding enquiries under Section 42.
• Work collaboratively with health professionals, providers, and partner agencies.
• Support individuals to access community resources, services, and appropriate placements.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in line with statutory guidance.
• Promote independence, choice, and wellbeing while managing risk effectively.

Requirements

Essential:

• Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA/MA Social Work).
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum 2–3 years post‑qualified experience within Adult Social Care.
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and report‑writing skills.

Desirable:

• Experience working within a Learning Disabilities service.
• Local authority Adult Social Care experience.
• Familiarity with systems such as Mosaic or Liquidlogic.
