What you will do:

  • Support the Team Manager in the day-to-day management of the Children With Disability team

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to social workers and practitioners

  • Oversee complex cases involving children with disabilities and additional needs

  • Ensure timely assessments, safeguarding interventions, and care planning

  • Promote a strengths-based and child-centred approach to practice

  • Participate in strategy meetings, child protection conferences, and legal planning meetings

Person specification:

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work

Registration & Compliance:

  • Registered with Social Work England

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Right to Work in the UK

Key Skills:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills

  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and disability-related legislation

  • Excellent decision-making, communication, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage complex cases and support practitioners

  • Strong organisational and performance management skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment

Experience:

  • Significant post-qualification experience in Children’s Social Care

  • Experience working with children with disabilities and complex needs

  • Experience supervising or mentoring social work staff

  • Experience in safeguarding and statutory social work practice
