A fantastic locum opportunity is available for a Band 7 Ultrasound Sonographer to join the IMGL Radiography team in the stunning Orkney Islands. Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do
- Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological, and vascular scans.
- Produce accurate, high‑quality diagnostic reports and communicate findings effectively with clinical teams.
- Provide excellent patient‑centred care across medical, surgical, and primary care pathways.
- Work autonomously with support from off‑island consultants when required.
- Prioritise safe clinical decision‑making and collaborative practice across both hospital and community settings.
Requirements / Candidate Criteria
Essential
- HCPC registration (if required for the employer).
- Qualified Sonographer with experience across general ultrasound specialties.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with clinical teams.
- Commitment to high‑quality patient‑centred care.
Desirable
- Experience in remote or rural healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with multiple imaging modalities (CT, MRI, general radiography).
