What you will do:

  • Supervise and facilitate family time (contact) sessions between children and parents or carers, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants at all times

  • Prepare, observe, and record detailed, objective reports of contact sessions to inform social work assessments, reviews, and court processes

  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns during sessions, implementing risk management strategies and escalating concerns in line with local procedures

  • Support positive interactions between children and family members, promoting attachment and appropriate parenting behaviours where safe to do so

  • Liaise with Social Workers, carers, and other professionals to coordinate contact arrangements and contribute to care planning

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, Childcare, Youth Work, or equivalent or relevant experience

  • Training in safeguarding, child development, or family support is desirable

Registration & Compliance:

  • No professional registration required

  • Working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004 and safeguarding procedures

  • Understanding of confidentiality, information sharing, and professional boundaries within children’s services
