What you will do:

• Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the Duty Hub, ensuring efficient screening of contacts and referrals while maintaining robust, consistent, and defensible threshold decisions.

• Lead on complex safeguarding decision-making processes, including Section 47 enquiries and strategy discussions, taking immediate risk management actions where necessary.

• Offer practice guidance and consultation to Social Workers and partner agencies, ensuring high standards of assessment and analysis are upheld.

• Coordinate multi-agency information sharing within a MASH environment, collaborating closely with Police, Health, Education, and other statutory partners.

Person Specification:

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent)

• Significant post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care

• Practice Educator or leadership training (desirable)

Registration & Compliance

• Registered with Social Work England

• Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and statutory guidance for assessment and intervention

• Understanding of MASH processes, information sharing protocols, and safeguarding governance frameworks
