What you will do:
- Lead and manage complex cases relating to adult safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to a team of qualified social workers.
- Advise and guide the team on the Mental Capacity Act, Best Interest Assessment, and related legal frameworks.
- Report to the Team Manager and Assistant Director of Adult Safeguarding, deputising as needed.
- Engage with the S21A process and Re: X Procedure, ensuring compliance with legal and statutory duties under the Care Act and other relevant legislation.
- Develop and implement strategies to address complex safeguarding concerns involving high-risk and multiple-need situations.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to promote best practice and deliver positive outcomes for service users.
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified social worker or occupational therapist with current SWE or HCPC registration.
- Demonstrated post-qualification training, such as BIA/DoLs, AMHP, and Practice Educator status.
- Expertise in adult safeguarding and BIA/MCA with substantial social work experience (minimum three years).
- Adept knowledge of the statutory and legal responsibilities as they pertain to the role.
- Proficient IT skills and evidence of continuous professional development.
