An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the Children In Care Team in Bristol. This ongoing locum position offers a competitive rate of £38.00 per hour, with flexible working arrangements including part-time or full-time hours and hybrid working with up to two days per week from home.

The Children In Care service supports children aged 0–18 who are in the long-term care of the local authority. You will play a vital role in helping to improve outcomes and create stability for children and young people in care.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement care plans for children and young people in the long-term care of the local authority.

• Work closely with families, carers, and professional networks to provide high-quality support.

• Manage a caseload of children and young people, focusing on achieving positive and sustainable outcomes.

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and reports in line with statutory and organisational requirements.

• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and service development activities.

• Act as a corporate parent, promoting the welfare, safety, and development of children in care.

• Work collaboratively with social workers, team managers, and support staff to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.

Requirements

• Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent).

• Registration with Social Work England.

• Experience working within Children’s Services, particularly Children In Care or Looked After Children teams.

• Strong assessment, planning, and case management skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
