Traffic Signal Engineer/ ITS Lead
Matlock, Derbyshire (Hybrid Working)
Initial 3 month contract with strong likelihood of rolling 3-month extensions

Role Overview

An experienced Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) / Traffic Signal Engineer is required to lead ITS delivery, working closely with the client Design Manager and a wider ITS engineering team to develop opportunities and deliver high-quality designs.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in coordinating ITS activities, managing workload delivery, and ensuring the successful design, testing, and implementation of traffic signal and ITS systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead ITS design delivery in collaboration with the client Design Manager
• Liaise with the Design Manager in the delivery and management of the forward programme of work
• Coordinate with the wider ITS team to bring in additional resources when required
• Undertake and lead ITS and traffic signal designs, including progress reporting
• Carry out Third Party Checks (e.g. S38 and S278 works)
• Support Factory / Configuration Acceptance Testing (FAT/CAT)
• Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
• Undertake MOVA validation

Desired Experience

• Strong experience in ITS and traffic signal engineering
• Experience delivering traffic signal and ITS design projects
• Knowledge of traffic signal control systems, including MOVA
• Experience supporting design approvals, testing, and commissioning
• Ability to coordinate and support technical delivery teams
