What you will do:

Manage a complex caseload of children and families in the First Response service, addressing both Child Protection (Section 47) and Child in Need (Section 17) cases.

Undertake advanced statutory assessments, risk assessments, and care planning, making high-level safeguarding decisions that actively protect vulnerable children.

Provide practice supervision, guidance, and support to fellow social workers and less experienced practitioners, fostering a supportive and effective team environment.

Lead and contribute to strategy meetings, child protection conferences, and multi-agency decision-making sessions, ensuring that robust safeguarding interventions are executed.
Person Specification:

Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent); evidence of continued professional development; post-qualifying award is desirable.

Registration & Compliance: Must be registered with Social Work England; knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks such as the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Public Law Outline (PLO) and care proceedings; enhanced DBS clearance required.
