What you will do:

• Respond to initial referrals and enquiries, assessing risk to determine the appropriate support or intervention required for families.

• Undertake statutory assessments, including Child and Family Assessments, in line with the Children Act 1989 and Tameside safeguarding procedures.

• Manage a caseload of children and families subject to Child in Need (Section 17) and Child Protection (Section 47) processes.

• Participate in multi-agency meetings, strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and core groups to ensure effective safeguarding.

Person Specification:

• Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) with evidence of continued professional development.

• Registration & Compliance: Registered with Social Work England; strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

• Enhanced DBS: Required for working safely with children and families.
