What you will do:
- Lead and manage the social work team ensuring high-quality practice and service delivery in line with statutory requirements, focusing on the best interests of the child.
- Mentor and supervise qualified social workers and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure all work adheres to Social Work England (SWE) standards.
- Oversee service delivery, making key decisions, solving complex cases, and maintaining service excellence under the direction of the Service Manager.
- Conduct case file audits and professional observations to continually improve service and practice outcomes for children, young people, and families.
- Develop strong partnerships with external agencies and services to ensure collaboration and holistic support for families.
- Support the Service Manager with administrative responsibilities, management of complaints, staff induction, and supervision to maintain a positive work environment.
- Uphold high standards of health, safety, and equality within the team, ensuring policies are seamlessly integrated into daily practices.
Overall Purpose of the Job:
This role involves taking on specific operational and staff responsibilities across different service areas, demonstrating advanced skills, knowledge, and expertise as outlined in the BASW Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) for Advanced Social Workers. You will have a pivotal role in safeguarding the welfare of children and young people through statutory and preventative social work services.
Requirements of the Team Manager:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Recent managerial experience, working as a TM, DTM or ATM etc.
- Significant frontline experience in Adults/Children’s Services working as a Team Manager
