What you will do:

Provide clinical and operational leadership within the Adult Social Care Reablement Service as an Occupational Therapist Assistant Team Manager.

Oversee triage and allocation of reablement referrals, ensuring safe and timely decision-making and expert advice on complex cases.

Line manage and supervise Occupational Therapists to ensure high-quality, outcomes-focused reablement.

Triage incoming reablement referrals, applying agreed eligibility and priority criteria, and identifying risk for timely allocation.

Allocate work across the Reablement Officers, OT, and Occupational Therapy Assistant team, considering capacity, urgency, complexity, and service priorities.

Attend huddle meetings regularly to coordinate activities, manage risk, and ensure efficient service delivery.

Offer expert clinical advice and operational support, escalate and manage complex cases, and address capacity pressures and safeguarding concerns.

Supervise, mentor, and support Occupational Therapists and Assistant Occupational Therapists, fostering reflective practice and professional development.

Oversee occupational therapy assessments and interventions for complex cases, ensuring practice aligns with legislation and local policies.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to maximise service user independence and achieve reablement goals.

Promote a culture of equality, inclusion, and respect, while ensuring services are accessible to diverse needs.

Comply with safeguarding duties, health and safety requirements, and risk management processes.
Person Specification:
-
Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) with current HCPC registration.

Experience in adult social care and community settings, including reablement and strengths-based approaches.

Demonstrable experience in triage, prioritisation, and allocation of referrals, balancing risk and complexity.

Experience in supervising and mentoring staff, with a focus on reflective practice and constructive feedback.

Strong knowledge of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and risk assessment in adult social care.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Proficiency in IT and maintaining accurate case records.

Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery.

A leadership or management qualification or experience is preferred.

Full UK driving licence required.
