Senior Quantity Surveyor in Hampton, Middlesex

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, who will be required to work on a Contract or Permanent basis in Hampton (Hybrid).

Role Purpose:

• Take full commercial responsibility for the management of significant Waste Water project(s).
• Report directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor to ensure financial targets and business requirements are met.
• Strengthen the commercial team through collaborative leadership and professional excellence.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Perform full quantity surveying duties, managing specific projects and work packages from inception to completion.
• Liaise closely with design, construction, and supply chain teams to accurately capture, analyse, and control costs.
• Manage the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised appropriately.
• Prepare and issue comprehensive subcontract documentation and oversee subcontractor performance.
• Manage the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
• Produce accurate project cost/value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Assist in the management, mentoring, and development of junior commercial staff.
• Maintain a solution-oriented approach, providing honest feedback and upholding strict confidentiality.
• Represent the department professionally while building constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:

• Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• Working towards or holding Chartered Membership of a recognised professional institution (e.g., MRICS).
• Proven experience within the Utilities, Civil Engineering, or MEICA sectors.
• Demonstrable experience with IChemE forms of contract.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in managing and developing individuals or small commercial teams.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry innovations.
